Greta Van Fleet made their long-awaited return to Florida, continuing their wonderful Dreams in Gold tour on March 6th, 2023, at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL. This electric four-piece band from Frankenmuth, Michigan put on the most magical show fans were bound to never forget. The band includes Brothers Josh Kiszka (vocals), Jake Kiszka (guitarist), Sam Kiszka (bass & keys), and their best friend, Danny Wagner (drums) who gave it their all and put on one heck of a rock-n-roll show for the wonderful city of Jacksonville.
This show plus others have been a long time coming, having to postpone numerous shows including the Jacksonville show in
October of 2022 due to the lead singer Josh Kiszka suffering a ruptured eardrum. Fans waited patiently in hopes of healing for Josh and new dates being announced. Being the wonderful fans that they are, they held onto their tickets and waited anxiously and excitedly for this wonderful day to come. Florida fans were thrilled for this special night in Jacksonville, with fans lining up as early as 24 hours prior to the show date. The fans were laughing and smiling amongst each other waiting for this marvelous night to begin. With me being a fan of the band myself, they never fail to put on a show so electric and breathtaking. Beginning the show with some of their hits like “Safari Song” and “Black Smoke Rising” they continued to unite the audience with tracks from their most recent album The Battle at Gardens Gate. The band had a unique way of showing each individual member's distinct talents. Beginning the show, Danny Wagner showed off his magnificent drumming skills with a drum solo you’d never forget. Jake Kiszka brought the energy with his unforgettable guitar solos and riffs, including his electric almost 5-minute guitar solo from their song “The Weight of Dreams.” Josh Kiszka the brilliant songbird showcased and captivated the audience with his phenomenal vocals throughout the whole show. And last but certainly not least Sam Kiszka brought the groove with his outstanding bass solo towards the end of the show. The boys themselves attract many wonderful humans who love life and good music. With the band having the message “peace, love, and unity” they create a safe space where everyone can come together to laugh, cry, sing, and be whoever they want to be in life. I believe that is why so many people gravitate towards the band and their music. Between awesome fan interactions and everyone coming together in song. You can tell how much these boys love everyone, fans or not. Coming from me though, once you attend a Greta Van Fleet show, I promise you will come out a fan of not only the music, but the awe- inspiring message. Thank you, Greta Van Fleet, for making a 2- hour show feel like home for not only me, but so many other people.
