FIT FOR A KING BY KITANA TUCKER

Fit For A King brought their tour to Houston Texas on 3/17/23. It was such an insane show including bands such as “Alpha Wolf”, “Northlane”, and “Kingdom of Giants”. The energy was completely unmatchable. Kingdom of Giants opened the show with hits that the audience loved. Their setlist was incredible and everyone was hype! It was my first time attending a concert like this, but It was absolutely crazy! Northlane was up next, a band based out of Australia. It truly was so incredible that they traveled all the way out to Houston to open up this show. They know how to keep a show alive. I saw so many crowd surfers and mosh pits. It was almost unexplainable. Lastly, Alpha Wolf came on stage. The lighting of their set was perfect. The music was crazy in the best way possible. Ive never seen so many people screaming lyrics as loud as the audience did last night. Such an incredible set of openers.

Finally, Fit For a King came out on stage. The room went completely wild as peace held up the rock symbol on their hands. Again, crazy lighting and even platforms that the bassist and lead singer stood on. Im pretty sure I even saw a back flip in their show! It was just insane!

GRETA VAN FLEET BY HAYLEY M

Greta Van Fleet made their long-awaited return to Florida, continuing their wonderful Dreams in Gold tour on March 6th, 2023, at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, FL. This electric four-piece band from Frankenmuth, Michigan put on the most magical show fans were bound to never forget. The band includes Brothers Josh Kiszka (vocals), Jake Kiszka (guitarist), Sam Kiszka (bass & keys), and their best friend, Danny Wagner (drums) who gave it their all and put on one heck of a rock-n-roll show for the wonderful city of Jacksonville.

This show plus others have been a long time coming, having to postpone numerous shows including the Jacksonville show in

October of 2022 due to the lead singer Josh Kiszka suffering a ruptured eardrum. Fans waited patiently in hopes of healing for Josh and new dates being announced. Being the wonderful fans that they are, they held onto their tickets and waited anxiously and excitedly for this wonderful day to come. Florida fans were thrilled for this special night in Jacksonville, with fans lining up as early as 24 hours prior to the show date. The fans were laughing and smiling amongst each other waiting for this marvelous night to begin. With me being a fan of the band myself, they never fail to put on a show so electric and breathtaking. Beginning the show with some of their hits like “Safari Song” and “Black Smoke Rising” they continued to unite the audience with tracks from their most recent album The Battle at Gardens Gate. The band had a unique way of showing each individual member's distinct talents. Beginning the show, Danny Wagner showed off his magnificent drumming skills with a drum solo you’d never forget. Jake Kiszka brought the energy with his unforgettable guitar solos and riffs, including his electric almost 5-minute guitar solo from their song “The Weight of Dreams.” Josh Kiszka the brilliant songbird showcased and captivated the audience with his phenomenal vocals throughout the whole show. And last but certainly not least Sam Kiszka brought the groove with his outstanding bass solo towards the end of the show. The boys themselves attract many wonderful humans who love life and good music. With the band having the message “peace, love, and unity” they create a safe space where everyone can come together to laugh, cry, sing, and be whoever they want to be in life. I believe that is why so many people gravitate towards the band and their music. Between awesome fan interactions and everyone coming together in song. You can tell how much these boys love everyone, fans or not. Coming from me though, once you attend a Greta Van Fleet show, I promise you will come out a fan of not only the music, but the awe- inspiring message. Thank you, Greta Van Fleet, for making a 2- hour show feel like home for not only me, but so many other people.

Make sure to follow these guys on all social media platforms @gretavanfleet and give their discography a listen! I promise you won’t regret it!

Son Real brought his show to House of Blues Houston on Monday. Alongside his tour, Solzilla joined him who shared some of his old and new music. He was very intimate with the audience and even had a few fans in the crowd. We had the opportunity to give one of his newer songs a title. It was very fun to watch him interact with the fans at such an intimate and real level.Son Real preformed many songs. One that the crowd really enjoyed is popular single, “Can I Get a Witness”. The audience was in love with his performance and I loved getting to see his interactions with fans.

I was also amazed at the lighting he had. Some of the effects he had went along with the music such as certain beat drops with the music. It looked incredible! Definitely check out some of his music and attend a show if you can!
